Chunping Chen joined in the O'Hare group in June 2013. She received her PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2013, where she studied the functionalization of LDHs under supervison of Assoc. Prof. Rong Xu. In Oxford, she is working on LDH catalysts in collaboration with SCG Chemicals.

When not in the lab, she loves travelling and snorkeling, enjoys designing video slideshows, and making Chinese knotting and cross-stitch.
